Marc Fennell is a media maker, film critic, culture geek, radio & tv broadcaster, blogger and twitter-addict who likes to pull high-brow culture down off its pedestal and give it a solid spanking.
Marc is probably best known for being 'That Movie Guy' on the Australian youth broadcaster triple j and ABC Local Radio. His segments on triple j (radio and tv) have racked up hundreds of thousands of downloads, 2 marriage proposals and a Facebook fan page. All of which are totally bewildering to Marc.
Marc can also be caught on ABC TV and Network Ten. He wrapped the 2nd series of ABC1's Hungry Beast in April, where he reported on culture, media, technology and society. He continues to pop up on tv every Wednesday, to dish out his quirky film reviews for Ten's new morning chat show The Circle.
In between it all, Marc is strapped to his desk writing his first book for Harper Collins/ABC Books.
After starting out at Sydney's FBi 94.5, Marc began presenting DVD reviews for SBS's The Movie Show at the tender age of 19. Since then he's worked as a graphic designer, web developer, feature writer and radio producer. He's also interviewed filmmakers like Richard Linklater, Kevin Smith and Judd Apatow, opinionated Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, late punk icon Malcolm McLaren and Buffy creator Joss Whedon. Mind you, Brendan Fraser once threw a newspaper at him - but hey - we all suffer for our art.
You can check out Marc's tv showreel here, read his blog here, follow him on twitter here and if you scroll to the right you can find a bunch of his broadcasting work in full.
Thanks for visiting.
