In 2007 Marc Fennell became the film critic for Australia's national youth broadcaster triple j. Since then he has researched, written, presented and produced the film content for triple j's many oily tentacles - radio, online, print and tv.
In February 2008 Marc launched flicked on triple j tv with the doctor (Saturday mornings on ABC1). The movie culture segment would use a new release movie as a jumping off point to look at a trend or theme in film history.
flicked covered everything from the serious to the silly. It examined Graphic Novel Adaptations, Ozploitation Movies, Hairdos and Marc tried to find out what makes us afraid of the Australian Outback. flicked took on the big issues too, like the most asinine film sequels and misleading movie trailers. Marc built the ultimate romantic comedy in one episode and discovered why Muppets are the minions of satan in the next.
Over the course of the 42 episodes flicked racked up well over 20,000 downloads on YouTube.
In 2009 flicked moved to Monday nights on ABC2 until June that year when Marc left triple j tv to joing Andrew Denton's Hungry Beast
Check out some of the choicest flickeds to the right. And you can view brand-new episodes by subscribing to Marc's triple j podcast or by streaming them online at the triple j tv youtube channel
