In 2007 Marc Fennell became the film critic for Australia's national youth broadcaster triple j. Since then he has researched, written, presented and produced the film content for triple j's many oily tentacles - radio, online, print and tv.
Each week he delivers quirky and fast-paced radio review packages of the latest cinema and DVD releases. They range from the most obscure indie flicks to the biggest blockbusters. And provided the movie doesn't star Kevin James, there's a reasonable chance that Marc's review will be somewhat even-handed. Marc's distinct style has made him a top featured critic on the review aggregate site RottenTomatoes.com, with one of the site's highest click-through rates. You can follow Marc's latest lastest reviews here
Back in 2006 Marc began the popular segment Film Ed 101 a quirky 2-minute radio piece that answered such burning cinematic questions like "Are the Nazi's The Reason our Olympic Coverage Looks So Slick?" or "How does one turn their VCR into a time machine?" or "Why Does French Animator Rene Laloux Hate You?" also "Has US Foreign Policy Been Inspired by The Godfather?" and that ole chestnut "Why did Ingmar Bergman Love Soap?" The segment ran for 3 years and is still popularly downloaded.
To the right is a selection Film Ed's from over the years. They're really quite short, so go on give em a whirl. And if you do like what you hear then the complete(ish) collection can be found here.
